Callan Field is a Toronto based visual artist and writer, and is currently completing a BFA in Photography at Ryerson University. Before arriving in the city, he spent two years in New Brunswick at Mount Allison University studying Environmental Science. As such, his work is often informed by an interest in scientific ideas, with a particular fascination with geography and mathematics. His photographs have been exhibited internationally and locally, and he has written multiple articles and interviews for The Eyeopener, The Argosy and Function Magazine. While his primary medium is photography, his work has expanded to include film, video and installation. A born and raised Albertan, he is also a passionate outdoorsman and guide with experience in rafting, hiking and canoeing.
